Exhibitions

The Cosmology Gallery is a wonderful art gallery with ample exhibition space, both floor and wall.

The GDC is always interested in new and exciting exhibitions of different kinds and we are very happy to make gallery space available for artists. We are especially interested in helping community based projects, as the Moora Fine Art Society Silver Ribbon Exhibition.

Antigone Radunovich       “All you Need is Love” HouseofAntigone005

In the Cosmology Gallery until 26th March 2010

This is her first solo exhibition. Like all artists, Antigone has a unique way of seeing the world. Life as she sees it is a delicate balance of colourful, chaotic and contrasting people, animals, nature and events which manage to coexist with humanity’s fundamental ethos of love.

In “All You Need Is Love,” Antigone, a lover of poetry and fiction, presents the audience with an exquisite lyrical essay of photographic images. Antigone’s colourful photos are recorded moments of sensitive, funny and bold encounters from her travels throughout Europe, America and Bali in 2009.

Ray Palmer Deep Space

In the Cosmology Gallery until 12th February 2010

Ray Palmer is a Perth based Deep Space Photographer. His work has been published in magazines all over the world. NASA have even contacted him on occasion for information relating to his work.

All of Ray’s work is shot on film and done from country Western Australia. Chittering and Kokerbin Rock (200kms East of Perth) are two of Ray’s most popular dark sites.

Ray says “I want to capture the splendor of space, there is so much beauty up there in the colours and shapes, most people don’t realize what they’re missing. Seeing people react to my work makes it all worthwhile.”

Astronomical Experience

I take my Deep Space Photography quite seriously; I am always studying and working on new techniques, but overall I am completely self-taught.

I have exhibited in many places, with my most recent exhibitions being at ABD The Gallery, Burswood Intercontinental Resort and Casino and the Western Australian Club on St Georges Terrace.

I regularly do astronomy spots on talk back radio.

My Deep Space Photography has been published in magazines all over the world and numerous times in Australian newspapers.

I have been contacted by NASA to assist them on three separate occasions for information relating to my work. NASA has also published my work onto their official website (nasa.gov) as “Picture of the Day”.

I acted as ship astronomer and electronics officer for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society whilst at sea with them in 2006. My status as crew member remains active and I look forward to returning to sea with them at some stage in the future.

My Deep Space Photography site is www.TheCosmicArtGallery.com

Recently I flew to Eastern Australia to accept an award from Dr David Malin of the CSIRO for my Deep Space Photography. I am also a guide Perth Observatory.

Recently I have been involved with a documentary called Space Cowboy which is currently being looked at by Discovery Channel.

My second book has also just been finished called The Cosmic Art Gallery. We intend on releasing this once Space Cowboy has been finalized.
