Professor Roy Kerr visits the GDC and helps us launch our Full Dome Projection Movies

200 students from Scotch College, Greenwood High School and Perth Modern were lucky enough to meet one of the greatest  mathematicians and scientist of our time. Professor Roy Kerr is attributed with  solving one of Einstein’s formulars on Relativity.  After a presentation on relativity and space by Professor David Blair, Professor Kerr was available to answer students’ questions. It was inspiring to witness a dialogue between a great mind like Roy Kerr’s and young aspiring scientists full of curiosity.IMG_0981

In honour of Professor Kerr’s visit to the Gravity Discovery Centre, our brand new Full Dome Projection facility in the Cosmology Galery showed its first movie to the public. Students were lying on the floor of the gallery, as the universe exploded on the dome screen above them into a  myriad of colour and sound telling the story of Black Holes.

We will be showing dome projection movies daily during the July school holidays!     IMG_1004
